Eleventh consecutive podium for Audi

ILMC: In its eleventh running at the "Petit Le Mans" race at Road Atlanta (USA) Audi again clinched a podium result. For six hours Audi had been hoping to claim its tenth win in the American endurance classic. However, at the beginning of the seventh hour Dindo Capello, who was leading the race, had to come in for an unscheduled pit stop because an insert in his helmet had come loose and pushed the fire-proof balaclava over his eyes. The lost lap could not be recovered later, Dindo Capello, Tom Kristensen and Allan McNish occupied third place. The second Audi R15 TDI lost 15 laps due to an accident and saw the checkered flag in sixth place.

ABT wins team classification

ADAC GT Masters: With two wins at the ADAC GT Masters season finale at Oschersleben Team ABT Sportsline secured the title in the team classification. Kuba Giermaziak and Christopher Mies won the race on Saturday, one day later their team colleagues Luca Ludwig and Jens Klingmann celebrated finishes at the very top of the podium. With a total of five exploits on seven race weekends the squad around last year's champion Christian Abt reaped the largest number of wins this year in their two Audi R8 LMS cars. For Team Rosberg that clinched its best result of the year the season ended on a positive note: the squad scored a total of 14 points and achieved its first podium result this year in the ADAC GT Masters. Heiko Hammel and Rene Rast from the Pole Promotion team finished fourth on Saturday and had to retire on Sunday.

Audi drivers celebrate two wins

GT3 Portugal: João Figueiredo and Cesar Campanico clinched two commanding victories on the fifth race weekend of the Portuguese GT3 Championship at Estoril. The two drivers of the NovaDriver Total team crossed the finish line in the first race 41 seconds ahead of their rivals, in the second round their lead amounted to 35 seconds. This means that Figueiredo and Campanico will be the sole leaders of the standings to travel to the finale at Portimão in mid-November.

Third place in the standings for Kevin Engman

JTCC: Audi driver Kevin Engman finishes the 2010 season in the Swedish Junior Touring Car Championship (JTCC) in third place of the standings. The driver of DTM racer Mattias Ekstrom's junior team can look back on a successful season in the Audi A3: Engman celebrated two victories and five second places. At the season's finale at Mantorp Park, Sweden, he finished the first race in fourth place and had to settle for eleventh in the second round.

Alexandre Premat contests three marathons

DTM: Audi "factory" driver Alexandre Premat proves his fitness at three marathon runs he is contesting within the space of just seven weeks. On September 26 he tackled the Paris-Versailles Marathon. He finished the 16-kilometer distance in 1h 12m 59s - hence with an average speed of 13.15 km/h. In the field of 18,942 entrants he occupied 1527th place overall, and 953rd in his group, out of 7633 places. As early as on October 10 the Paris 20 Kilometers will be the next run on his agenda. The 42-kilometer race is one of the world's biggest and most prominent running events and attracts more than 30,000 runners from all over the world every year.
