Fresh off their win at Circuit of the Americas. BAR1 Motorsport comes to Virginia carrying momentum and the enthusiasm to repeat. The team is at Virginia International Raceway for the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patorn Oak Tree Grand Prix.
While upbeat about the team's recent success, BAR1 owner Brian Alder is not about to rest on their laurels.
"The win at Circuit of the Americas was amazing, but Monday morning, it was back to business as usual. The crew has been working hard all week preparing the cars for VIR. This track is completely different and we are ready to fight for our second victory.
"We started off Thursday going in the right direction. Our cars finished the test session 1st and 3rd… and we're qualified to start 3rd in Sunday's race. Hopefully we'll continue to gain ground as the race progresses.
"We're also excited to have James French returning to our stable in the No. 7 PetroComm car. James will be sharing the ride with Rusty Mitchell. Both drivers have experience at the Virginia track.
"With Kyle Marcelli and Chris Cumming returning in the No. 8 Evident Capital car, I think we have a good chance and good strategy for both cars to end up on the podium."
The Oak Tree Grand Prix from Virginia International Raceway is set for 2 p.m. EDT on Saturday October 5.
