Ende will join RSR Racing seven more times this year

Los Angeles, Calif. - After competing at the season-opening Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring, Duncan Ende will join RSR Racing for almost the whole American Le Mans Series season, partnering Bruno Junquiera in the no.9 RSR / Johnson Controls Oreca FLM09.

Ende will miss the rounds at Circuit of the Americas and VIRginia International Raceway due to scheduling conflicts with his commitments in the Pirelli World Challenge, where he drives the no. 24 Merchant Services / STANDD Audi R8 LMS. Driving in the PC class in the 2012 ALMS season, Ende scored two podiums with co-driver Henri Richard.

Ende, along with Junquiera and Alex Popow, finished fourth at the 12 Hours of Sebring to start the year after contending for the victory throughout the first part of the race. A penalty for contact set the car back a lap and ultimately led to the car finishing a lap down.

"The goal this year is simple - we want to win races," said Ende. "After joining them in Sebring, I know that Bruno and everyone else at RSR Racing is committed to winning races. I was hoping we would be able to work something out for the rest of the season, and I'm glad we did.

There are few drivers faster than Bruno and I think we would have a real run at the championship, but since I have to miss two races I will just be the best starting driver I can, try to get some wins, and help Bruno win the championship."

While wanting to win races is a goal of every driver, there was a secondary reason that Ende was looking to continue racing in the ALMS.

"One thing I really wanted to be a part of was the last American Le Mans Series season, and especially, the last ALMS version of Petit Le Mans," said Ende. "Obviously, the race will continue into the future with United Sports Car Racing, but this year's race will feel like the end of an era and of course it's the end of the American Le Mans Series. I have really enjoyed racing in the ALMS and I want to be a part of it."

Ende and Junquiera will next take on the Tequila Patron American Le Mans Series at Long Beach. It will be a double header for Ende, as the Pirelli World Challenge will also be a part of that famous street race which is just a few miles from his home in Los Angeles.

"Racing at Long Beach is always special," said Ende, who will make his fourth start at Long Beach. "It's a great event and we have a lot of friends and family that come out. Last year we had a tough race so it would be great to have a good one - or two - this year."

The Tequila Patron American Le Mans Series at Long Beach will be streamed live on ESPN3.com on Saturday, April 20 at 7:15 PM ET with a TV broadcast on Sunday, April 21 at 1:00 PM ET on ABC.
