Farnbacher Loles Racing earned the GT2 pole position for the final race in the 2008 American Le Mans Series. Dirk Werner of Kissenbruck, Germany, set a class record en route to the pole, lapping the 2.238-mile Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca road course in one minute 22.080 seconds at an average speed of 98.182 mph in the No. 87 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR.

The pole is the second of the season for Werner and the rookie ALMS team, who collected their first series win in August. Werner will alternate driving stints in the four-hour race on Saturday with Bryce Miller of Summit, N.J.

"It's a great beginning for an important weekend for us," Werner said. "We're really looking to get a good result here after a disappointing race at Road Atlanta. So far, everything seems to be really good. The car works perfect, the guys did a really good job in preparing it and I'm optimistic because Bryce is really doing well on this track with the RSR. I think we have to be optimistic because there is not a lot that can bother us -- the car is fast, the teamwork is good and we're in good shape."

Team owner Gregory Loles noted, "It's a great start to the event for us. The whole team is hitting on all cylinders right now. It's important we close the season on a high note. We look forward to announcing our 2009 program in the near future."

Farnbacher Loles Racing is also preparing two cars for two IMSA Challenge by Michelin races this weekend. Darrell Carlisle of McLean, Va., qualified his No. 43 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car ninth in the Platinum class and Ben McCrackin of Corpus Christi, Texas, qualified the No. 81 Porsche 11th in class on Friday.
