Bryce Miller will be on home turf this weekend as he competes in the American Le Mans Series race at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Conn. Miller, of Summit, N.J., will join forces with Luke Hines of Essex, England, in the ORBIT No. 48 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car.

The pair led the GTC class and set a record race lap in their last race, at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah, on July 11. They will have the support of 150 guests at Lime Rock, so they're hoping for another strong performance -- and perhaps a podium finish for their partners Marquis Jet, Grand Prix Racewear, IPC Systems and TOTAL Lubricants.

Both Hines and Miller are second-generation racers. Miller's father Paul led the Porsche factory effort in Trans-Am Series racing in the 1980s. He won at Lime Rock Park on Aug. 10, 1985, after starting fifth behind the pole-sitter, Paul Newman. He also competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans three times and in the Daytona 24-hour race nine times, winning the GTO class in 1988.

"Lime Rock would be considered a home track to me," Bryce Miller said. "My father won here in his Porsche 924 on the Trans-Am circuit in 1985. It would be really good to pull down a win here. The schedule will be compressed and the track is physically demanding, but Luke and I are really looking forward to a good race and hope to carry on our momentum from Salt Lake."

The two-hour 45-minute American Le Mans Series race is scheduled for Saturday, July 24, from 2:05 pm to 4:50 pm EDT on the 1.51-mile Lime Rock Park road course in Lakeville, Conn. The race will be broadcast live on SPEED and radiolemans.com. Live timing/scoring will be available at imsaracing.net.
