NOTES OF INTEREST
The American Le Mans Series made its debut at the picturesque Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in the 2001 season in an event that was added to the schedule after the season had begun. True to its name, the course was built for sports car racing and has a long history with IMSA-sanctioned events. The weekend at Mid-Ohio will mark the first time this season that the ALMS and the popular Trans-Am Series will be together on the same bill.
