J3 Racing Prepared for Mid-Ohio

Lexington, Ohio - J3 Racing drivers Justin Jackson and Tim Sugden are poised for a good run in round four of the American Le Mans Series race to be run at Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course on Sunday.

The 2.25-mile, 13-turn central Ohio circuit offers nearly every kind of racing turn and combination. The circuit is replete with challenging sections that include the Mid-Ohio signature turns the Carousel, Esses and Key Hole. Jackson and Sugden had a good run going early at Mid-Ohio last year in their number 79/J3 Racing/Porsche 911 GT3 RSR before a bizarre wheel failure put them back in the order.

"We have been good at Mid-Ohio before with podium finishes in 2002 and we were running as high as third last year when a wheel broke," said Justin Jackson. "You really need a well balanced car here, there is every kind of turn you can imagine and the racing line is pretty tight. Traffic here can play a big role and there are sure to be a few caution periods. We will need good strategy and heads-up driving to do well."

Jackson's co-driver for this race will be Leeds, England's own Tim Sugden. "I like Mid-Ohio it reminds me of Oulton Park back home with the rolling terrain and the rain. I am looking forward to racing here, we ran really well last year before our wheel problem. We are still searching for a good balance on the car with the new Pirelli tires. Mid-Ohio has a lot of concreted patches right in the middle of the corners, so the transition from the asphalt to the concrete can upset the car."

Mark Hupfer will be driving the number 79/J3 Porsche 911 Cup car in the Porsche Cup event to be run following the ALMS race on Sunday. Hupfer finished third in the inaugural event at Road Atlanta last month.

The Mid-Ohio race will be televised live on CBS starting at 12:00 p.m. EST on Sunday, May 22nd.
