Alton, Virginia (October 5, 2013) - Henrique Cisneros and Sean Edward returned to the podium at the Oak Tree Grand Prix at Virginia International Raceway today when they drove their red-yellow-and-black MOMO-liveried Porsche GT3 to a third-place finish.

Cisneros started the No. 30 MOMO NGT Motorsport car from the fourth qualifying position and drove a solid one hour stint. An unfortunate pit stop accident, which sent one of the MOMO NGT crew members to the hospital, was lengthier than usual. Edwards lost his second-place position with the stop and returned the Porsche to the track in third place, where he stayed for the remainder of the race.

Eduardo Cisneros, competing in his first GTC class race in the ALMS, suffered a harrowing accident when a GT Porsche attempted a pass that resulted in both cars spinning into the tire wall. The No. 31 MOMO NGT entry of Eduardo and co-driver Kuba Giermaziak flipped and landed on top of the tire wall. Fortunately, he was cleared by the on-track medical hospital and was able to watch his younger brother, Henrique, and the rest of the MOMO team collect their podium finish from the track pit box.

Henrique Cisneros, No. 30 MOMO NGT Motorsport GTC class and starting driver:
“The first stint went great. We did what we had to do. The TRG car was a rocket ship. No one could catch up to them. I was behind Cooper McNeil (in the No. 22 WeatherTech Porsche) the whole time. VIR is hard to pass so we couldn’t get around him. Kuba (in the No. 31 MOMO NGT Motorsport Porsche) came up and passed me and then was trying to pass Cooper. Finally at Turn 4, he opened up the gap and got by him. Soon after that I was called in for a driver change. Unfortunately, we had an accident on the pit stop and our tire changer got injured when a tire hit him in the middle of his knee and bent his leg wrong. The extra 10 seconds or so on the pit stop forced us to lose the second place position, which aided the WeatherTech team in the final points. Now we need the WeatherTech car to not finish the last race at Petit Le Mans in order to win the championship.

“Sean did a great job like he usually does and was able to bring the car home in third. We are now 13 points down in the points chase going into the finale at Road Atlanta in two weeks.”

Sean Edwards, No. 30 MOMO NGT Motorsports GTC class and qualifying driver:
“We had a good stint and had the car up to second place. We were a little behind the TRG car. On the final stop, one of the mechanics had an accident and we lost a track position during that pit stop. Once I was back out I tried to overtake Jeroen (Bleekemolen in the No. 22 WeatherTech Porsche). On my first set of tires I was faster, but on the second set he was faster. I had to settle for third.”

Ramez Wahab, NGT Motorsport Owner/No. 30 MOMO NGT Motorsport Team Manager:
“Henrique and Sean had a pretty decent race. They started fourth and it was a close race the entire time. Henrique drove the first hour, as usual, and then we put Sean in the car. We had a pit stop where one of our tire changer got hurt and was sent to the hospital. It cost us additional time in the pits but he’s going to be okay.

“We finished the race in third position with no drama. That increased our standing to second in points in the championship chase. The No. 45 team had radiator issues and also received a stop and go penalty and they lost two laps, which helped our championship effort.”

The next race for the No. 30 MOMO NGT Motorsport Porsche GTC will be the final round of the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patron series, Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta, October 17-19, 2013.
