New Multimatic Motorsports Team Panoz livery ready to hit the track at Sebring

Multimatic Motorsports Team Panoz has unveiled its stunning new livery for this year's American Le Mans Series Panoz Esperante assault.

The new scheme, designed in-house, hit the track for the first time last week at Road Atlanta as team regulars Scott Maxwell, David Brabham, Gunnar Jeannette and Tom Milner put the two Esperante GT2 entries through their paces in preparation for the upcoming Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.

The four Multimatic stars will be joined by Newman-Haas Racing's Sebastien Bourdais and Bruno Junqueira for the season-opening endurance event.

Bourdais will team-up with Maxwell and Brabham while Junqueira returns to the track for the first time since suffering injuries at the Indy 500 last year, to drive with Jeannette and Milner.

"Testing has gone extremely well and I am very pleased with the progress that the team has made," said Multimatic Vice President and Motorsports Technical Director, Larry Holt.

"Taking over the Panoz factory program and incorporating it into our Toronto-based team has been a significant undertaking but everything has run extremely smoothly so far.

"Next week when we arrive at Sebring we will see exactly how we are placed relative to the opposition. We are fully aware of the challenge ahead but our intention is to be a serious contender for the championship."

To coincide with the unveiling of the new livery, Multimatic Motorsports Team Panoz has launched a new dedicated section on the multimaticmotorsports.com website to focus on its 2006 American Le Mans Series efforts.

Multimatic Motorsports Team Panoz has also become one of the first teams to launch its own regular podcast radio show -- downloadable from the team website or the Apple iTunes Music Store.

"The podcast is great for race fans to be able to catch up with all the behind the scenes news each month," said Multimatic Motorsports Team Panoz driver, Gunnar Jeannette.

"For somebody like me who never goes anywhere without my IPod, podcasting is like having your own radio station in your pocket -- you can choose what programs you want to listen to -- on any subject you like.

"This is great for us to be one of the first individual race teams to do this. One of the NASCAR teams has launched a podcast but they only talk to the crew chief. I think we are the first where fans can listen to the drivers, the technical experts and other special guests."
