Another day-night race for France

Magny-Cours is to host another day-night race in France for sports cars. The race is being billed as the Magny Cours 4000km. It will be open to many different classes of sports cars, plus also super tourers.

Stuck to contest for ALMS

Hans Stuck is to take part in the full American Le Mans Series for the Prototype Technology Group BMW M3 team - a full factory backed team. He is also expected to take part for BMW in the Le Mans 24 Hours.

Bouchut loses ASR Ferrari drive to drive Mercedes

Christophe Bouchut has given up his drive with ASR after signing with Mercedes for the Le Mans 24 Hours. Carl Rosenblad took his place at Daytona, with Vincenzo Sospiri taking the now vacant space at Konrad. Sospiri is now expected to drive for JB Ferrari for the rest of this season.

New BMW praised

Tom Kristensen and Jorg Muller have said that they are very impressed with the new BMW LMR racer after testing at Jarama. It is expected to have its first endurance runs at Homestead in the next couple of weeks.

IPC needs a manufacturer to get goahead

Stephane Ratel, boss of the IPC, has said that unless he attracts one manufacturer to the series it won't go ahead. Despite the goal being 20 entries, he doesn't want the series just be a replica of the ISRS. Mercedes wil l only enter the series if there is another manufacturer, and the prize fund and television deals all depend on at least one manufacturer.

Ferrari debut FIRST

The Ferrari F50 racer looks set to be raced by the FIRST racing team. The team plans to run 3 F50s in the series. It is expected for the project to get the go ahead in the next 10 days.

55 cars for Sebring

55 cars have entered for the opening round of the American Le Mans Series, the Sebring 12 hours. The race takes place on March 20th.
