PAGENAUD TO COMPLETE 2010 ABOARD THE PEUGEOT IN CHINA
Patron Highcroft Racing's Simon Pagenaud is gearing up for another championship assault this weekend in China as he rejoins the Peugeot factory team for the final round of the Le Mans Intercontinental Cup.
Pagenaud will team up with former Champ Car ace Sebastien Bourdais in what will be the final race for the Le Mans-winning Peugeot 908 HDi-FAP in Zhuhai.
The French pair will be looking to get back on track after an early finish to their 2010 Le Mans 24 Hour assault this year.
The target will be to return to their winning ways from Spa Francorchamps in the European-based Le Mans Series in Belgium.
Pagenaud, Bourdais and Pedro Lamy survived a first-lap spin, an unprecedented red flag, a late-race rain storm and a trip across the gravel in the final hour to win the chaotic Spa event.
The Highcroft man is keen to continue his outstanding 2010 season after claiming his first American Le Mans Series drivers' championship with David Brabham aboard the Honda Performance Development factory-backed ARX-01c.
"This will be a great way to finish the season and an exciting trip because I have never been to China before," Pagenaud said.
"It will also be the final race for the Peugeot 908 so we will be looking to go out on a high note.
"We won the championship at Highcroft and I would love to help Peugeot seal the Intercontinental Cup - that would be a perfect double for me."
Peugeot recently finished one-two in the LMP1 class at Petit Le Mans - the same day Pagenaud, Brabham and Marino Franchitti finished fourth overall and first in LMP2 to claim the ALMS championship.

Highcroft boss Duncan Dayton will add his name to a "who's who" list of illustrious guests at the Madison Avenue Sports Car Driving & Chowder Society luncheon next week in New York.
Dayton will join Road America boss George Bruggenthies as guest speakers at next Wednesday's event.
The MASCDCS was formed in 1957 and attracts a wide array of sports car-loving newspaper, magazine, TV, radio, advertising and PR people.
The first luncheon attracted 97 people including Walter Cronkite.
Throughout the years the group has drawn an incredible array of guest speakers including Roger Penske, Bill France Jr., Brian Redman, John Watson, Pancho Carter, Tom Sneva, Sam Posey and Geoff Brabham - brother of Highcroft star, David.
Dayton is looking forward to teaming with Bruggenthies - the man behind what is considered to be the finest road course in North America.
Road America has been a happy hunting ground for Patron Highcroft Racing in recent years with a class victory in 2008 and an overall win in 2009.
