ACEMCO Heads West to Infineon

Spring Lake, Mich. - ACEMCO Motorsports is headed west for round four of the American Le Mans Series race at Infineon Raceway to be run on July 18th. The team is coming off a third place finish at Lime Rock Park.

Terry Borcheller and Johnny Mowlem, drivers of the number 63 ACEMCO Motorsports/Saleen S7-R, are currently second in the ALMS GTS standings with 45 points.

The team has faced increased competition from new comers in the last couple of races. Two Lamborghini's appeared at Mid-Ohio and there will be a third Corvette in the field driven by Dale Earnhardt Jr. at Infineon.

"Infineon is a perfect place to race, the weather is nice, your in wine country and the track is very challenging," said Johnny Mowlem. "The Saleen S7-R will be a good car there, it is a momentum track similar to Lime Rock where we showed a high level of competitiveness. The track has a lot of turns and our car is really good under braking so that should help to open things up for us. My favorite part of the circuit is the fast left hander up the hill, even though it has been slightly changed over the years, it is still the best part of the track."

Terry Borcheller has a long history at Infineon Raceway. "I went to my first ever driving school in 1989 after racing karts for 10 years at Sears. I liked it so much I went to work at the track for Bob Bondurant. The track has 12-turns and not a long straight away so you are spending most of your time in a turn or setting up for one. The Saleen is very good under braking and transitioning into the corner. I am hoping to be as competitive as we were Lime Rock."

"New GTS competitors seem to be arriving almost by the race," said Jeff Giangrande, team owner. "Earnhardt Jr. will cause a spectacle and hopefully draw some fans that may not have considered coming to see an ALMS event before. Our team is coming off a good race at Lime Rock, we were able to lead some laps and we are really making strides with S7-R. Our driver's have a lot of laps at Infineon so we are looking to a good result."

The July 18th race at Infineon Raceway will be televised live on CBS starting at 3:00 p.m. Eastern.
