Ryan Vos Eager to return to racing

Sanborn, Iowa - After an unexpected hiatus from professional auto racing, racecar driver Ryan Vos is ready to get back behind the wheel and revive his career.

Vos, 31 is looking at the ARCA RE/MAX Series or the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for experience next season. With thoughts of running a limited schedule or full schedule next year, Ryan would just like to receive the opportunity to get back on the track.

"It's been a while since I've competed in a race, but I am determined to race next season," said a hopeful Vos. "I have some experience in the ARCA RE/MAX Series with success, now I need to get back in a car and prove that I have what it takes."

While competing in race trim would be a plus for Vos, he also won't rule out about the thoughts of being a test driver. "No doubt, I would love to be racing for the win every week. I love to race, but sometimes you have to take a step back to make three forward. If I were offered a position as a test driver, I would seriously consider it."

Indeed, Vos has plenty of experience and ambition, but not the best of luck.

The Pella, Iowa native has experience in go-karts, mini sprints, legacy cars, legend cars, and mostly recently and notably the ARCA RE/MAX Series.

The ARCA RE/MAX Series, a stepping-stone for drivers looking to maneuver their way into the NASCAR ranks has provided Ryan the best seat-time thus far, but not enough.

Ryan, considered a smart, and conservative short track sensation has a slew of ARCA RE/MAX Series starts to his credit. His best showing occurred in only his third start at the slick, tricky short track of Salem Speedway in Indiana.

After qualifying 24th, Vos mastered the 0xda6ce-oval capturing a strong ninth place finish, beating his second outing of 13th a few weeks prior at the fast and furious Winchester Speedway also based in Indiana.

Since then, Vos has competed in several events with underfunded teams. Mechanical failures and an uncharacteristic accident keeping the self-employed driver at bay and the known talent still left to be seen.

"The ARCA RE/MAX Series is a wonderful series," continued Vos. "I have learned a lot in that division, and while I wouldn't mind returning in 2005, my heart and soul is in NASCAR. Every penny I've spent in racing came from my pocket, I have the determination, I just need someone to give me an opportunity and prove what I can do."

Vos, also a veteran aviation pilot concluded, "NASCAR Nextel Cup Series driver Carl Edwards is my mentor. He is from my area, and at first didn't have a lot of money. However, he raced hard and quickly caught the eyes of many. He was given a chance to shine at Roush Racing and excelled. He is living proof that dreams come true, if you want them bad enough. And that is what keeps me going."
