Patrick Sheltra Adds Two Awards to ARCA Collection

(TOLEDO, Ohio) - ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards champion Patrick Sheltra is the winner of the Fast Track High Performance Driving School Award and the Racing Electronics Lightning Challenge for the 2010 season, giving him four major special awards in addition to his first series title.

Sheltra also won the Hoosier Tire Superspeedway Challenge and the CGS Imaging Hard Charger Award, and will be presented with all four awards at the series' Championship Awards Banquet on Saturday, December 4 at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington, Ky.

The Fast Track Award and the R.E. Lightning Challenge award points in the same manner, as points are tabulated from race finishes only, provided the competing driver carries the sponsor decal for the award category. Qualifying and lap leader bonuses are not included in Fast Track Award or R.E. Lightning Challenge scoring.

Sheltra and the No. 60 Sheltra Motorsports entry compiled 3410 total in-race points in 20 races in 2010, with back-to-back wins at the Springfield, Ill. State Fairgrounds and Chicagoland Speedway in August giving him 400 points (200 for each win) and providing a major spark in each contest. Sheltra led the ARCA Racing Series in top-five and top-10 finishes, with 12 and 17, respectively.

Craig Goess finished second in both categories with 3340 points. Tom Hessert (3310), Justin Marks (3125), and Dakoda Armstrong (3050) completed the top five in Fast Track scoring, and . Armstrong (3185), Marks (3125), and Frank Kimmel (3055) rounded out the top five in R.E. Lightning points.

The Fast Track High Performance Driving School, which is headquartered in North Carolina and hosts programs at Rockingham Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway, and Kentucky Speedway, is the Official Driving School of the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards.
