Michigan ARCA Date Announced as Track Adds Race Sponsor; RainEater Wiper Blades 200 Set for June 17

(TOLEDO, Ohio) - The ARCA Racing Series will make its 30th appearance at its hometown superspeedway, Michigan International Speedway, in the RainEater Wiper Blades 200 on Friday, June 17, 2011.

Speedway officials announced the addition of the race sponsor last week, and the series' announcement of the race is the second in a continuing release of the 2011 ARCA Racing Series schedule. The ARCA 200 at Daytona International Speedway will open the season Saturday, February 12.

Like its Daytona counterpart, the 100-lap, 200-mile RainEater Wiper Blades 200 will air live on SPEED as part of the ARCA Racing Series' 10-race television package for 2011.

The Michigan International Speedway oval, located in Brooklyn, is situated less than 50 miles away from ARCA's home office in Temperance, Mich., and holds a key spot in the annual schedule.

"We have always considered MIS our hometown superspeedway. It's a special place for us, with our history there since 1980 and it being an ISC-owned track," said ARCA president Ron Drager, noting his family's connection to the ISC-operating France family.

"Our drivers really look forward to racing at MIS since it's such a competitive track and it's close to home for many of our Midwest-based teams. The administration and staff at MIS have always been solidly supportive in promoting the series, and our teams and drivers appreciate that."

With the winter weather fast approaching, the safety and all-weather performance of RainEater™ wiper blades is more important than ever to Michigan International Speedway race fans.

Providing a clear, safe view of the road ahead for all drivers is RainEater's ultimate goal. That's why its choice to sponsor the ARCA Racing Series event at MIS makes sense for RainEater, a company that specializes in superior quality wiper blades.

"This is our first venture into motorsports and we're excited about the opportunity to sponsor the ARCA Racing Series RainEater Wiper Blades 200 at MIS and showcase our superior quality wiper blades to the race fans," said Tom Tillman, director of marketing for RainEater. "It is a fact that Michigan experiences tough driving conditions, especially in the winter, and we feel that MIS is a great platform for national brand exposure of our all-seasons wiper blades.

Originally developed for the aerospace industry, the RainEater Premium All Seasons Wiper Blade was adapted for the automotive market to provide the very best performance in efficiently wiping rain, sleet, and snow from the windshield. The molded one-piece frame resists freezing and clogging and eliminates the need for winter blades, while the universal adaptor is engineered to be amazingly simple to use, making for EZ-QUICK Installation in seconds.

"RainEater wiper blades are very beneficial to drivers in Michigan and the Midwest. We are proud that RainEater has chosen MIS as their platform to showcase their products, develop quality business-to-business partnerships, and enhance their brand exposure," said Josh Burgett, director of corporate partnerships for MIS.

The Erie, Pa.-based company has partnered with Cequent Consumer Products as their master distributor, capitalizing on Cequent's extensive experience and reach in retail distribution. The RainEater brand complements Cequent's current product mix and is a welcome addition to their market leading brands that include towing and hitch systems, trailer components and accessories, and electrical, brake, cargo securing, cargo management, and rack systems.

Jeff Purvis and Tim Steele are ARCA's all-time leading winners at Michigan with three victories apiece. Frank Kimmel will seek his third victory at the track after winning in 1998 and 2005. Mikey Kile defeated Joey Coulter and eventual series champion Patrick Sheltra in June to win in the ARCA Racing Series for the first time in his career.

The remainder of the diverse 2011 ARCA Racing Series schedule will be released in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, the thrilling 2010 campaign will close Saturday, December 4, with the series' Championship Awards Banquet at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington, Ky., near Cincinnati.

The ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards has crowned an ARCA national champion each year since its inaugural season in 1953, and has toured over 200 racetracks in 28 states since its inception. The series tests the abilities of drivers and race teams over the most diverse schedule of stock car racing events in the world, annually visiting tracks ranging from 0.4 mile to 2.66 miles in length, on both paved and dirt surfaces as well as left- and right-turn street and road courses.

Founded by John Marcum in 1953 in Toledo, Ohio, the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) is recognized among the leading sanctioning bodies in the country. Closing in on completing its sixth decade after hundreds of thousands of miles of racing, ARCA administers over 100 race events each season in two professional touring series and local weekly events.
