NOTES OF INTEREST: The Winchester ARCA 250 marks the 16th appearance of the ARCA RE/MAX Series at Winchester since the series first raced on the renowned, legendary oval in 1964. Three-time RE/MAX Series champion Tim Steele is the all-time Winchester winner with three victories while defending race winner and defending RE/MAX Series champion Frank Kimmel, Tracy Leslie and former champion Marvin Smith are tied with two wins each. Drivers with one victory each at Winchester include three-time RE/MAX Series driving champion Jack Bowsher, Gary Bradberry, former champ Bob Keselowski, Ralph Latham, Bob Strait and Bobby Watson. In addition, Steele owns the one-lap track record with a speed of 110.045 mph established in 1997.

Expected entrants include former champions' Kimmel, Steele and Leslie as well as RE/MAX Series veterans' Andy Belmont, Joe Cooksey, Ron Cox, Chuck Weber, Blaise Alexander and Norm Benning. The event will also mark the first appearance of third-generation driver Jason Jarrett who is running full-time on the 2001 RE/MAX Series tour for Winona Lake, Indiana-based ML Motorsports. Jarrett is the son of '99 NASCAR Winston Cup champion Dale Jarrett. In addition, second-generation driver Todd Bowsher, son of Jack Bowsher, has filed an entry. Bowsher recorded his career-best RE/MAX Series finish of 10th last year at Winchester.

The Winchester ARCA 250, spread out in a two-day format, will include Saturday, day-before practice sessions as well as Old Milwaukee Pole Award qualifying at 3 PM local time. Sunday's race, slated for a 1 PM start-time, will also feature an on-track autograph session at noon accompanied by pre-race festivities and driver introductions.
