Having scored points in the last round, Jagan came into this weekend on a high, continuing his fine form as the Indian registered his first podium, finishing second in Suzuki Asian Challenge's Race 1.

In a hard-fought race, Jagan made up six places after starting eighth, finishing 0.911s behind winner Indonesia’s Jefri Tosema, but importantly 0.085s ahead of third-placed Rizal Feriyadi.

Meanwhile, Race 2 proved to be a challenging task as Jagan only managed ninth, mere 0.024s behind eighth-placed Mario Borbon Jr.

Up ahead, Malaysia's Muhd Rozaliman Zakaria won the race from Tosema, both separated by 0.011s, with Philippines' April King Mascardo completing the podium.

With Kanan Subramaniam (15th) and Mithun Kumar (18th) missing the round, Jagan broke into the top 10 sitting 10th with 45 points.

Sarath's season's first point

As Sarath still recovers from his knee surgery, the Indian received a major boost in the first race of the Supersports 600cc category, scoring his first point of the season having finished 15th.

The Honda Ten10 Racing academy rider throughout the practice and qualifying improved his laptimes, with the goal of finishing the races.

Starting from 20th, with some luck the Chennai-based rider benefited from retirements to make up places to score a single point.

Indonesia's Gerry Salim took victory on his Honda, beating teammate and fellow countryman Dimas Pratama while Zaqhwan Zaidi, also on a Honda, completed the podium.

For the first time this season, Sarath was able to compete and finish both the races, as he ended 17th in Race 2 with Salim winning from Zaidi and Pratama.

The Indian is still a bit off the laptimes of the midfield riders, and is riding at a maximum speed of about 149 km/hr, while his rivals are riding over 152 km/hr.

With the point finish in Race 1, Sarath sits 26th in the standings.

Mixed results for Krishnan, Rajiv

It wasn't a great start for the Asia Dream Cup riders Hari Krishnan and Rajiv Sethu, the latter recovering from National Championship's crash.

After a difficult qualifying, Krishnan crashed out in the opening lap itself with 13th place starter Sethu retiring on Lap 6, after tangling with Vietnam’s Bui Duy Thong.

Indonesia’s Muhd Febriansyah took a close win from China’s Zhou Sheng Jun Jie, separated by mere 0.021s, while Malaysia’s Hafiz Nor Azman completed the podium for Race 1.

Things improved for Krishnan in Race 2 with a 10th place finish, but it was a hard battle with Woraphod Niamsakhonsakul, who finished just 0.020s behind the Indian, over the finish line.

Sethu missed on points by 0.123s having ended 16th, behind Corey Briffa, as Japan's Hiroki Nakamura won from Jie and Philippines's Koko Masaharu Tadachi.

Krishnan sits 11th with 49 points, just two behind 10th place, while Sethu is 16th on 20 points.
