The 2013 Asian Le Mans Series 3 Hours of Fuji’s starting grid has been further strengthened by the addition of 11 Super GT cars. The GT300 cars will compete in a separate SGT class for 3 Hours of Fuji and will contribute to a fantastic weekend of racing for Round 2 of the 2013 Asian Le Mans Series.

Super GT is Japan, and one of Asia’s, biggest and most popular motosports series. Established almost 20 years ago Super GT has a huge Japanese and international following. Their inclusion in the Asian LMS displays both the calibre of racing that Asian LMS provides and also the level of profile and recognition that Asian LMS is aiming for. The SGT entry list includes current Super GT300 Team and Driver Ranking leaders TEAM MUGEN; current Team Ranking 3rd & 4th place teams R&D SPORT and GAINER, who are 2nd and 3rd in the Driver Ranking respectively; as well as current Asian LMS GTC and GTE team TAISAN KEN ENDLESS, who will also be racing their Ferrari 458 GTE in the GTE class and Porsche 996 GT300 in the GTC class. The SGT teams will be scoring points that will contribute towards the current GT300 season.

After a fantastic first round in Inje there is just over a month before Round 2 at Fuji Speedway on the 22nd of September. Competition in Inje was incredibly close and with the grid now significantly bolstered with these great teams 3 Hours of Fuji promises to be another momentous event.

Asian Le Mans Series Managing Director Mark Thomas: “We are delighted to be including Super GT cars into our Fuji event. The quality and prestige of their cars and races are well known around the world and they will help us elevate and promote Asian LMS even further in the international endurance racing arena.”
