Giovinazzi to make sportscar bow in Asia
Formula 3 ace Antonio Giovinazzi will make his sportscar debut early next year, joining Eurasia Motorsport for the final two rounds of the Asian Le Mans Series.

The Italian will partner Sean Gelael in an Oreca 03-Nissan run under the 'Jagonya Ayam with Eurasia' banner, in deference to the sponsor that backed Giovinazzi through his F3 career.
Giovinazzi previously competed with Eurasia in 2012, when he took the Formula Pilota title before embarking on a three-year stint in European F3 that culminated in the runner-up spot in the championship this year.
He and Gelael will be in action for the third round of the Asian Le Mans Series at Buriram, Thailand, before the season finale at Sepang later in January.
"Both Sean and Antonio started their racing careers with us, and it's great that just three years on we are back together in LMP2," commented team principal Mark Goddard.
"They make a very strong driver line up and we believe we have a very good chance of winning."
Giovinazzi's future plans remain unclear, especially as new F3 rules prevent drivers that have completed three full seasons from returning - which also excludes champion Felix Rosenqvist as well as Giovinazzi's former Double R teammate Tatiana Calderon.
He had stated an ambition to join Audi's DTM line-up, having made his debut in the series at this year's Moscow round in place of Timo Scheider, before the Ingolstadt marque opted to retain all eight of its current drivers.
Nonetheless, he was invited by Audi to its young driver test earlier this month at Jerez, and followed this up with two days in Carlin's GP2 car in post-season testing in Abu Dhabi.
