Teams onto the track for the first day of Free Practice sessions of the 2014 3 Hours of Shanghai

Shanghai International Circuit officially welcomed all Asian Le Mans Series teams onto the track for the first day of Free Practice sessions of the 2014 3 Hours of Shanghai. Teams navigated their way around the 4.6 km circuit, and all drivers benefited from the valuable track time ahead of Saturday’s race.
Free Practice 1
In Free Practice 1, OAK RACING TEAM TOTAL followed up their two wins with a very strong start at 3 Hours of Shanghai finishing top of LM P2 with a fastest lap-time of 1:41.735 set by Ho-Pin Tung in their #1 Morgan-Judd.
Eurasia Motorsport was chasing after OAK RACING TEAM TOTAL with their #27 LM P2 ORECA NISSAN and recorded a fastest lap-time of 1:42.974. Craft-Bamboo Racing were the top CN team in their #77 Ligier JS 53 EVO drove by Kevin TSE with a fastest lap time of 1:48.474. Team AAI #92 BMW Z4 led the GT Category with the fastest lap time of 1:47.689 set by Morris Chen.
Free Practice 2
Free Practice 2 took place later in the afternoon. The second best 2013 Asian LMS driver, James Winslow, driving for Eurasia Motorsport #27 clocked a fastest lap-time of 1:42.798 to lead LM P2. Only 0.220 seconds behind was #1 OAK RACING TEAM TOTAL with a fastest lap time of 1:43.018 set by Ho-Pin Tung.
Team AVELON FORMULA missed Free Practice 2 with a battery problem which let Craft-Bamboo Racing once again take the top spot in CN Category and record the fastest lap time of 1:51.292. Team AAI #90 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 led the second place Clearwater Racing with 0.3 seconds difference , and the battle amongst all the GT cars remains fierce.
Teams will have Qualifying session at 10:05 tomorrow. As all the drivers become more accustomed to the circuit competition heats up with all teams looks to optimize time in Qualifying.
