Getting ready for 2006

In preparation for the new season, Brooks Associates Racing, one of the longest running teams in the Atlantic series, has been testing a variety of fast, young drivers. In twelve days of testing at Firebird and other Southwest tracks, seven drivers, including Robbie Pecorari, have showcased their talents in the hopes of joining the competitive Atlantic field.

"I have really been impressed by how quick these young drivers are jumping in. Robbie, for example, wasted no time in setting top speeds and was notably faster than the track record. " said John Brooks, team owner. "The other area that is quite positive for the series overall is the interest level from international drivers. I think the generous ChampCar incentive, combined with the addition of ChampCar teams as Atlantic team owners, will make 2006 a very exciting year."

The team will continue testing until the holidays, finalizing its roster for its two car effort in early January.

John Brooks of Brooks Associates Racing was named Team Owner of the Year in 2005 by the series and has fielded such notables as Ronnie Bremer (now in ChampCar), Andreas Wirth (who was second in the championship going into Road America before being sidelined by an accident), Al Unser III, Fernando Rees and Daniel Pappas. In 2006, competitors will fight for the 12-race championship and the unique $2 million Champ Car series champion's bonus.
