LAZZARO PULLS ASIDE, LETS TEAMMATE BORDIN TAKE VICTORY AT ATLANTIC HOUSTON FINALE HOUSTON - Canadian Andrew Bordin scored his second KOOL/Toyota Atlantic Championship victory of the year Sunday at the season finale at the Texaco/Havoline Grand Prix of Houston. Bordin, of Woodbridge, Ont., was running second to teammate and series champion Anthony Lazzaro for all but the last three turns of the 43-lap race but pulled up, allowing Bordin to take the lead and the victory. By winning his third Atlantic career race, Bordin moved up into third in the final points standings. Lazzaro, of Acworth, Ga., took over the lead at the first turn of the race when polesitter Buddy Rice, of Phoenix, Ariz., had mechanical problems as the green flag was dropped. Lazzaro, who clinched the Atlantic title at the previous race, finished second, with William Langhorne, of Washington, D.C., third. Sunday's race was the last of 12 races this year and concluded the Atlantics' 26th season of competition.
