Gelles Racing fields a threesome in Montreal
Indianapolis, August 22nd, 2006. -- Gelles Racing will be back to Montreal this weekend with its Champ Car Atlantic team for the eleventh round on the 2006 schedule as part of the Grand Prix de Montreal on beautiful Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve. Robbie Pecorari will be back with the Western Union #28 car on a racetrack where he clinched a podium last year in the Star Mazda series while Colin Fleming will finally get to drive the #14 eSoles/King Taco machine on the 2.709 mile, 14-turn facility he has heard about for many years. Finally, they will team up with 18-year old Red Bull finalist Casey Neal (#31) who will enter his maiden race in this series.
"We're looking to Montreal to be a very exciting round, noted team owner Bob Gelles. Robbie and Colin have been working hard in the last three rounds and it is only a matter of time before they turn this hard work into podiums. I'm happy to see our drivers have been consistent all year, a significant accomplishment for an entirely new team. Robbie won the Toronto round and he and Colin have realized Top-10 performances race after race. But they want more and our crew will not quit until they achieve their goal. Casey will surely benefit from their experience but he is aware this will be a steep learning curve in this very competitive series. Casey is talented and I trust he can reach the top half of the field."
A Sunday morning race
Gelles Racing drivers will take to the track for 45-minute morning practice sessions on Friday and Saturday and the usual qualifying stints in the afternoon at 1:10 PM. A short warm-up period will take place at 8:00 in the morning before the standing start race goes red light out at 11:00 AM.
