First pole position for Ricci during the last round
The first pole position for Giacomo Ricci (Fisichella Motorsport) in Euroseries 3000 and F.3000 Italian Championship has arrived durig the last round of the 2006 season. In Misano, on a wet track, the driver from Milan has overcome his rivals, driving in 1'39"014.
Ricci has gained the head after 12 minutes, improving his results by the middle of the session. The second chrono is then for an outstanding Gavin Cronje (Auto Sport) who stopped the clock on 1'39"911 and will start tomorrow on the first row.
On the third place Vitaly Petrov (Euronova). The Russian has leaded during the initial minutes, being then replaced by Ricci. The driver of Vincenzo Sospiri has driven in 1''40"431, preceding his team-mate Jerome D'Ambrosio who gained a chrono of 1'40"563.
Excellent debut for the brazilian Diego Nunes, fifth, who has driven with Minardi/GP Racing team car in 1'40,613. Marco Bonanomi, fighting against Ricci for the title, has obtained the eighth result, behind Cressoni e Ippoliti. A very positive tenth placement for the young austrian Bianca Steiner on the Lola B02/50 of the Coloni F.3000 Rookies' Team.
The official session has been definetly interrupted 2 minutes before the end because of a violent accident occured before Quercia turn between Dracone (Euronova) and Cressoni (Vanni/Traini). The two drivers have been brought to the hospital for checks.
