Second pole position for Rodriguez

Roldan Rodriguez has shown to be a fast driver not only in Spain: after Barcelona, he got in Vallelunga his second pole position. On the roman track, during a week-end valid for both Italian F.3000 Championship and Euroseries 3000, the 22 years old Spanish driver of Minardi Team has proved to be once more the fastest one, with a chrono of 1'24"256. Rodriguez has preceded Euronova driver Jerome D'Ambrosio (1'24"727) and his team-mate Tuka Rocha (1'24"747).

The fight between the two Fisichella drivers struggling for the title has turned out into Marco Bonanomi fourth best result (1'24"828) in front of his team-mate Giacomo Ricci, fifth with a chrono of 1'25"098. Immediatly after the first half of the session, Rodriguez was already leading, in front of Bonanomi and Petrov. Then D'ambrosio has stepped into the fight for the pole position between the Spanish and the Italian, obtaining to start tomorrow on the first row beside the poleman.

Qualifying has been interrupted after 7 minutes because of Fausto Ippoliti going out of the track at Semaforo turn. Same turn and same conclusions also for Frankie Provenzano with the F.3000 Rookies Team car. Gian Maria Gabbiani, the only driver on a Lola '99 of Team Facondini, has stopped at the beginning of the session at Trincea turn. Provenzano, despite the exit, has succeeded to be the best rookie of the session.
