SAN DIEGO (Tuesday, September 11, 2001) - San Diego-based Gatorz Eyewear announced today that it has signed racecar driver Chris Bingham to an endorsement contract. Bingham, the Grand American Rolex Road Racing GTS Series points leader, becomes the second high profile racecar driver to be a spokesperson for the company. CART driver Michael Andretti signed an endorsement contract earlier this year. As per company policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Gatorz Eyewear President & CEO Kerry Lynch stated, "Once again we have found a gem in the racing world to help promote the Gatorz Eyewear name. With the addition of Chris to our family of spokespersons, we will be able to hit another specific market in the racing industry. We are thrilled to have Chris on our team."

Bingham, who has been fitted with the Demora glasses, will have a chance to claim the Grand-Am GTS points championship on Sunday, September 16 in the Grand-Am Finale at the famed Daytona International Speedway. Entering the race, Bingham has a 29 point lead over his nearest competitor, Park Place Racing teammate Ron Johnson.

"I've been wearing Gatorz for a couple of years now, and I'm excited to be a part of their family. I'm really looking forward to working with Gatorz through the rest of our season in Grand-Am, Petite LeMans, and the 2002 season," Bingham remarked.

In addition to Gatorz Eyewear sponsorship with Bingham, Park Place Ltd, a luxury and exotic car dealer near Seattle, will be an outlet for Gatorz products. Park Place Ltd. has sponsored Bingham since the beginning of his racing career.

Beginning this month, Bingham will join Andretti in the company's "Who'z That In Gatorz?" marketing promotion. Bingham will be featured on Gatorz Eyewear promotional materials.

Gatorz sunglasses are carved from billet aircraft aluminum, then double hinged and tension mounted around 100% UV-blocking polycarbonate lenses. Each indestructible unisex pair is annealed (softened) then heat-treated (hardened) in Gatorz Eyewear's exclusive 22-step handmade patented process.
