INDIANAPOLIS, Tuesday, May 22, 2001 - Maurice Lacroix Swiss Watches will present the winner of the 85th Indianapolis 500 with a truly unique and elegant gift for winning the "Greatest Spectacle in Racing."

The winner of the 2001 Indianapolis 500 will receive a handmade, 18-karat rose-gold Maurice Lacroix Indy 500 Masterpiece Flyback Annuaire valued at $10,000. It features the legendary flyback function that allows measurement of different timings without the need to stop and reset the hands to zero. Only 200 limited, special-edition timepieces are being created, commemorating the 200 hundred laps of the world-famous race.

In addition to the 18-karat gold body, the face is sterling silver, etched with a simulated checkered flag design.

Each timepiece is individually numbered. The winner of the 85th Indianapolis 500 will receive Indy 500 Masterpiece Flyback Annuaire No. 85. The next 10 watches in sequence have been put in reserve to be presented to Indianapolis 500s winners for the next 10 years.

"Maurice Lacroix Swiss Watches is very excited to be here," said Robert Siragusa, president of Maurice Lacroix USA. "We have created a unique timepiece for the Indy 500 winner. The driver deserves it, because they are unique for winning the Indy 500. It (the timepiece) is likewise a trophy and something that the driver can wear."

Maurice Lacroix Swiss Watches was named the Official Watch of the Indianapolis 500, the Brickyard 400 and the Indy Racing League in March. They are also providing the 2001 Indy Racing Northern Light Series champion with one of its exquisite Tiago Chronograph watches. The winner of the NASCAR Brickyard 400 event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway will receive a Siras Chronograph.

In addition, Maurice Lacroix is producing all-steel Indy 500 Miros Rattrapante timepieces, available for purchase to racing enthusiasts and Indianapolis 500 fans as the ultimate collector's piece. The Miros features the Indianapolis 500 logo and is valued at approximately $1,500.

Maurice Lacroix USA is one of the fastest-growing Swiss watch manufacturers in America, with more than 400 quality jewelers representing the award-winning collection in the United States. Well-known celebrities such as Sandra Bullock, Samuel L. Jackson, Joe Mantegna and Dennis Franz have been seen wearing timepieces from Maurice Lacroix Swiss Watches in their films, television shows and as part of their personal wardrobe.
