Las Vegas promotes David Stetzer

Stetzer promoted to LVMS director of operations.
Adamcik new short-track coordinator.

LAS VEGAS-- David Stetzer will assume the position of director of operations at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, it was announced today by Chris Powell, LVMS's president and general manager

Stetzer, who has overseen short-track racing at LVMS for the past three years, will be succeeded by Andy Adamcik. Adamcik will become LVMS's short-track racing coordinator when the changes become effective July 1.

Stetzer, 38, has been an employee of Speedway Motorsports since his graduation from Slippery Rock (Pa.) University in 1989. He was president and general manager of 600 Racing prior to coming to LVMS. Since his arrival in Las Vegas, car counts have tripled, attendance has more than doubled and several new racing series have been added at the Bullring, LVMS's 3/8-mile facility that features NASCAR Weekly Racing.

Stetzer assumes the position left vacant when Mike Yurick left LVMS to become director of racing at Indianapolis Raceway Park.

"I'm really looking forward to the challenge of directing the operations of the largest sports facility west of Texas," Stetzer said."The three years at the Bullring have been fun and rewarding, and with Andy coming in, I'm certain that weekly racing in Las Vegas will continue to grow."

Adamcik, a veteran motorsports promotor, will oversee the Bullring and motocross tracks. He comes to LVMS after spending the past two years as the general manager of Indianapolis-based Gearheads, Inc. Gearheads is a diverse motorsports business whose diecast and embroidery divisions are some of the most successful in the industry. Prior to his stint at Gearheads, Adamcik was director of operations at Sandia Motorsports Park in Albuquerque, N.M. He previously served as general manager at Cowtown Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas.

Adamcik, 29, is a 1995 graduate of Texas A&M University.

David Stetzer has done a fantastic job with the Bullring and our weekly racing series, and I'm sure Andy will make his own positive marks as the short-track program continues to grow."
