Miller Motorsports Park Teams Up with Utah Teen Driving Safety Task Force to Produce

TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH (April 7, 2009) -- Miller Motorsports Park, working with the Utah Teen Driving Safety Task Force and professional racing driver Patrick Long, has produced a Public Service Announcement video that will be appearing throughout the Salt Lake City market in the coming weeks.

Long, a Porsche factory driver who competes in the American Le Mans Series for the Flying Lizards Motorsports team, appears in the video telling young drivers that it is important to use their safety belt at all times and to avoid distractions such as talking on the phone or texting while driving. He also directs them to the Utah Teen Driving Safety Task Force's website, www.Dont-Drive-Stupid.com, to get helpful tips on becoming a better and safer driver.

Motor vehicle traffic crashes are the leading cause of death for teens nationwide. Utah teen drivers represent a small percent of all licensed drivers, but they cause more than three times as many crashes as the average driver. To address this public safety concern, Zero Fatalities came up with a program for teens called "Don't Drive Stupid," which has been adopted by the Utah Teen Driving Safety Task Force.

"Teen driver safety is a big issue for all of us," said Dan Davis, President and CEO of Miller Motorsports Park. "Through the Teen Driving School at our Miller Performance Training Center, we encounter many young people who admit there is a lot they didn't know about driving safely. We are very pleased to team up with the Utah Teen Driving Safety Task Force to help get the word out about their 'Don't Drive Stupid' campaign, and we very much appreciate the help of Patrick Long, who is a great young ambassador for this message."
