Network Broadcasters announced

Miami - The Motor City 100 presented by Johnson Controls, round four of the Trans-Am Series for the BFGoodrich Tires Cup, will be broadcast by CBS Sports on June 17 at 5:00 (EDT). The race, the first major network appearance in the Series illustrious 36-year history, will be part of the Tenneco Automotive Grand Prix of Detroit on Belle Isle.

Veteran motorsports announcer Ralph Sheheen will anchor the broadcast. Sheheen joined CBS Sports in 1995 as a reporter. He was co-host of the 1996 Jiffy Lube Miami 300, and has worked four Daytona 500s. In addition to CBS, Sheheen has provided commentary for TNN, TBS, Fox Sports Net and Speedvision. He has also hosted "Fast Company," an international motorsports show that airs in more than 50 countries.

Bill Adam will provide commentary and analysis in the booth while former Trans-Am Series driver Brian Till will work the pits. Adam, a former professional sportscar racer, has worked numerous Trans-Am Series races in the past. Till made 11 starts in the Trans-Am Series during the 1995 season and finished ninth overall in the Drivers' Championship. He finished second in the Rookie of the Year standings behind Price Cobb and posted eight top-10 finishes.

Eric Mann will serve as Senior Producer of all three of the Trans-Am Series broadcasts on CBS Sports. Mann has numerous motorsports television productions to his credit, including the Daytona 500.

The Motor City 100 presented by Johnson Controls will be the 18th appearance by the Trans-Am Series at the Detroit Grand Prix. This year's race broadcast will feature in-car cameras from the #35 Wickes Lumber Trilithic Panoz Esperante, driven by Kerry Alexander; the #64 Automationdirect EATON Cutler-Hammer Jaguar XKR, driven by Johnny Miller and the #88 Tommy Bahama Qvale Mangusta, driven by defending Trans-Am Series champion Brian Simo.

Last season's race on Belle Isle was won by Paul Gentilozzi (#3 Johnson Controls HomeLink Jaguar XKR) under caution over Simo. Gentilozzi secured his 20th career victory in round three of the series on May 20 at Mosport International Raceway. He is the all-time leader in career Trans-Am appearances with 165 and is tied with Greg Pickett on the all-time list for top-10 finishes with 107. He has won two of the past three Trans-Am races on Belle Isle and looks to join Tom Kendall as a three-time winner in Detroit.
