FORT WORTH-DALLAS (March 7, 2000) -- With racing popularity on the rise, Texas Motor Speedway's RaceWeek now airs in 11 television markets that span Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. RaceWeek, a weekly syndicated television show, highlights the world of racing that includes driver features, a recap of the previous week's activities, and a look ahead at the next week's races. RaceWeek, which airs locally every Saturday at 6:30 p.m. (CST) on KTVT Channel 11, now airs in six Texas markets: Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Midland, Wichita Falls, Bryan/College Station, and Waco. In Oklahoma, the show airs in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, while Louisiana race fans can watch the program in Shreveport, Baton Rouge, and Monroe. Because motorsports is the fastest growing sport in America, Texas Motor Speedway General Manager Eddie Gossage feels that RaceWeek's expansion into new television markets is necessary. "We're glad to see the sport grow," said Gossage, "and shows like RaceWeek is one way to teach new fans about the sport while keeping our current fans up to date as well."

Babe Laufenberg, a former Dallas Cowboys' quarterback, hosts the show for the second year in a row. RaceWeek is produced by GameDay Productions, located at Texas Motor Speedway. GameDay, which began RaceWeek as a local show four years ago, formed an official partnership with Texas Motor Speedway in 1998. GameDay also produces a racing show for the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Georgia.
