Watkins Glen, NY (March 3, 2000) -- Watkins Glen President, Bryan R. Sperber, announced today that Philip Barnes has been named the new Director of Security for Watkins Glen International. "We are delighted to announce that Phil Barnes has joined our staff as Director of Security," said Sperber. "Phil brings 26 years of experience in law enforcement and an in-depth understanding of our guests' needs. Phil's positive impact on our organization will be felt immediately." "I'm excited at the opportunity to join the Watkins Glen family," said Barnes. "Working with the staff at Watkins Glen to provide the best possible experience for our valued guests will be a challenging and rewarding experience." Barnes joins Watkins Glen International after serving as the Undersheriff of Schuyler County for the last ten years. After finishing Law Enforcement training in Montour Falls, NY in 1977, Barnes continued to rise through the ranks of law enforcement and was named Undersheriff in 1990.
