Paul Zalud Appointed as The WKA Director of CIK International Event Listings
Seattle , WA . -- September 12, 2007 -- The Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by IndyCar Series is pleased to announce that series President Paul Zalud has been appointed as the WKA Director of CIK (Commission Internationale De Karting) International Event Listings. In this role, Zalud will oversee all inquiries into listing events in the United States on the CIK-FIA World Calendar.
With this move, Mr. Zalud will work alongside Randy Kugler of the WKA who will continue to serve on the CIK Commission and be the ACCUS representative, and Marie Borsuk of the WKA who will continue to oversee all CIK licensing for United States drivers.
"Stars of Karting and the World Karting Association have been working closely together for many years now," states Mr. Kugler. "As the sanctioning body for Stars of Karting it is only natural that we request the services of Paul Zalud to streamline our CIK activities in the United States. As the karting delegate for ACCUS and the CIK I look forward to making Paul part of our team to provide a better service to the U.S. karting community."
"I look forward to this opportunity to become more directly involved in the CIK process and to start working immediately on establishing a complete set of guidelines and procedures for all events wishing to be listed on a CIK Calendar," says Zalud. "It is essential that consistency is maintained in the operations of any U.S. event with what is the current benchmark, the Stars of Karting."
Mr. Zalud's new position will take effect immediately and all questions regarding listing events within the United States on the CIK-FIA World Calendar should be directed to him.
The Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by IndyCar Series will continue with the final round for the West division on the weekend of September 14-16 at Moran Raceway in Beaumont, California.
