Daniel Di Leo looks for his second victory in round #9 of the Barber Dodge Pro Series

TORONTO, ON. (AUG 7, 2003) -- 21-year-old Daniel Di Leo (Di Leo Auto Sports / Select Auto Collision / Autosports Media) heads to the 2.258 mile Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course to compete in round #9 of the 2003 Barber Dodge Pro Series (BDPS). Di Leo, who is coming off a race weekend in Vancouver where controversy filled the air, will look to rebound in the second last event of the season. The Markham, Ontario resident currently sits 2nd in the overall point standings with a mere three point margin over series rival David Martinez.

Di Leo, a previous race winner in the series and a proven front runner will be looking to garner his second career BDPS victory and secure 2nd in the series championship. "I like this track and feel I have a good chance at a victory" explained Di Leo in a recent phone interview. "I have competed at Mid-Ohio and faired well in the past."

Though Di Leo has been very busy with promotional activities and the daunting task of trying to secure sponsorship funds for next season, he did manage to find time on last weeks off weekend to travel to Trois Rivieres to meet with race teams and take in the Toyota Atlantic race. "I want to move up to the next level and I know I must perform well to impress those teams. To be behind the barriers watching last weekends race eats at you and I just need the chance to prove that I am capable and ready." With the determination, consistency and off track manner that has been displayed by Di Leo this season, he has impressed several team managers in all levels of motorsports. Di Leo will look to fare well this weekend as he will be competing in front of both the Champ Car and Toyota Atlantic teams.

Daniel will hit the track Friday morning for his first practice session of the weekend competitions. Di Leo will look to put his Select Auto Dodge race car on the provision pole in first round qualifying Friday afternoon at 1:45pm Fans can go online to www.barberdodge.com to get an up to date schedule and view live timing, results and video highlights for each and every on track session.
