Fortec's Reddy was the quickest Indian driver on Thursday, finishing 10th, 11th and 10th respectively in the three practice sessions.

Lanan's Akhil Rabindra was 16th, 14th and 18th across three sessions, while Chris Dittmann Racing's Krishnaraaj Mahadik finished 17th, 18th and 16th.

Carlin’s Ameya Vaidyanathan was again absent for medical reasons as he continues to recover from his spectacular crash in Oulton Park.

During qualifying, Reddy mirrored his practice results, setting the 10th fastest time of the session as Carlin's Lando Norris clinched pole.

Rabindra and Mahadik qualified in 15th and 16th places respectively, separated by just a tenth of a second.

Rabindra crashes out from Race 1

In the opening race on Friday, Rabindra was involved in a collision with Chris Dittmann’s Quinlan Lall at Turn 15, with both drivers immediately retiring from the race.

While Rabindra escaped unscathed, Lall had to be extricated from the car and taken to the hospital for precautionary checks.

Given the situation, the race was red-flagged on the sixth lap and results declared on the basis of Lap 5.

The early end of the race brought Reddy’s charge to a halt after the Indian had jumped to sixth place and was closing the gap to the frontrunners.

Meanwhile, Mahadik in his rookie BF3 season finished 14th just behind CDR teammate Jeremy Wahome.

Podium for Reddy in race two

In the second race, Reddy made a rocketing start from third, passing front row starters Al Faisal Al Zubair and Ben Hingeley to take the lead.

Reddy was soon involved in a tussle for the lead with Toby Sowery, who closed the gap on the Indian and eventually made a move at the Bus Stop chicane.

The Fortec driver fought back to take the lead only to lose it again before coming under pressure from a fast charging Thomas Randle.

The Australian reeled the Indian in to take second place demoting Reddy to third. Despite Enaam Ahmed closing the gap in the last few laps, Reddy held on to his position to take his third podium finish of the season.

“It was a good race and for the first few laps I managed to get into the lead,'' he said after the race.

"Toby Sowery passed me and then I passed him back, so it was a good race in the opening half.

"He managed to get past me coming out of Eau Rouge again and there was nothing I could do. I went off at Les Combes and then Thomas Randle came past me,'' he added.

Meanwhile, Mahadik enjoyed better fortunes, finishing just two seconds outside the top 10 in 12th position.

Rabindra, by contrast, struggled at the back of the pack, finishing 19th - only ahead of Carlin’s Lando Norris, who had to pit with front wing damage.

Eighth for Reddy in final race

The final race was a quiet affair for Reddy, who was unable to make much strides from his grid spot of ninth place.

In a tight midfield, the 18-year-old finished in eighth, right on the heels of Thomas Maxwell and Ricky Collard.

But Reddy dropped to ninth after a post-race penalty to the Indian for gaining unfair advantage promoting Denyssen to eighth.

Meanwhile, Mahadik and Rabindra rounded off the weekend with 15th and 17th respectively, the latter in a fight with Aleksanteri Huovinen - both separated by 0.325s over the line.

While Collard still maintains the lead, Reddy moves three places to seventh with 197 points to his name as Mahadik is 18th with 85 leading Rabindra and Vaidyanathan on 79 and 69 points respectively.
