AURORA, Ill. (February 20, 2002) - The IFMA Freestyle Motocross series continues to set new attendance records across the country. This past weekend at the Allstate Arena outside Chicago, the IFMA series set a new weekend attendance record with a groundbreaking 40,006 fans in attendance including a sold-out standing room only crowd on Saturday night while Nate Adams and Kenny Bartram racked up weekend victories. This was the sixth event of the 2002 season credited with a sold-out event.

In 2001, the IFMA tour visited six new venues with record setting crowds. This year, the IFMA tour is scheduled to visit eight new cities including Sacramento, Calif., Worcester, Mass., Dallas, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Grand Rapids, Mich., Birmingham, Ala., and Indianapolis. Four of the six sold-out events thus far on the 2002 tour have been inaugural events. To date, Sacramento, Worcester, Pittsburgh, and Chicago have provided sold-out events.

"Chicago marks the largest market ever for an IFMA Freestyle Motocross contest," said T.D. Lovett, vice president of freestyle motocross for Clear Channel Entertainment. "We brought our best show with the most premier line-up of riders for any IFMA Freestyle Motocross event in the history of the series. The results were beyond any of our expectations."

For the first time ever on the IFMA Freestyle Motocross schedule, there were three events during the weekend. In addition to the traditional Friday and Saturday night performances, a Saturday afternoon matinee was added at 2PM.

"The addition of a Saturday afternoon show gave the families of Chicago another opportunity to attend a freestyle event. Not since our Supercross in the Chicago market two years ago has Clear Channel Entertainment had such a tremendous success in the backyard of our motor sports headquarters," added Lovett.

In competition, another record was set as Kenny "the Cowboy" Bartram collected his ninth win of the season on Friday night. Bartram finished second at both Saturday events to the seventeen year old Nate "the Destroyer" Adams. Dustin Miller finished second on Friday night behind Bartram while Drake McElroy took the third place final podium spot for all three events. The weekend was a cavalcade of FMX all-stars including Mad Mike Jones, Tommy Clowers, Trevor Vines, Dustin Miller, and more.

"The fans in Chicago were louder than anything I've ever heard at an IFMA event, it was a blast to ride there" added Kenny Bartram.
