He will line-up alongside team owner Jeff Smith in one of the team’s BTCC TOCA Swindon-powered two-litre turbocharged cars.

It will be Goff’s fifth season in the BTCC. He won a race driving for the Triple Eight Racing MG6 cars in 2015, and placed 11th in the points last season at the wheel of a rear-wheel-drive WSR BMW 125i M Sport.

Goff said: “I have been fortunate to have raced with many successful teams during my short time in the BTCC and having met the Eurotech Racing team and visited its very impressive facilities, it is already very clear that it has all the personnel and resources to give me a great chance to be fighting for championship honours in 2017.

“The car is a proven winner, with [reigning champion] Gordon [Shedden] having won the past two championships with the Civic and, with the Swindon engine, I think we have a very competitive package for the 2017 season.”

Eurotech had a patchy season last year, but when team newcomer Dan Lloyd joined the operation for three races, he qualified on the front row twice and also took two top 10 finishes.

Smith said: “Our aim was always to put a talented young gun in to the second seat which we have managed to achieve.

“I am confident that Jack’s racecraft combined with our Honda will be a force to be reckoned with.

“We know our cars are capable of winning the championship and with Jack’s ability, we are confident this is an achievable goal.

“We have a comprehensive pre-season testing programme in place and will hit the ground running. From the first round at Brands Hatch [on April 2], we intend to be on the podium.”
