Multiple team Champions Triple Eight secure Nash for the remainder of the British Touring Car Championship

James Nash returned to action last week at the official British Touring Car Championship test held at Snetterton.

On returning from a five week break driving his Team Triple Eight Vauxhall Vectra Touring car with the knowledge of having his place in the team secured for the remaining rounds of the British Touring Car Championship James put in a professional performance placing him in the top four of the time sheets throughout the day.

The test was the first time James had driven since the last round held five weeks ago at the Croft racing circuit, apart from Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden's Honda Civic team all of the BTCC teams were present at the Snetterton test making James 4th quickest time of the morning session and a 2nd fastest time in the final afternoon session representative of his intentions for the upcoming race weekend.

James commented that he found time on both sets of new tyres during the afternoon session and worked on a qualifying set up in preparation for round 6 of the championship in less than two weeks time.

Justin Keen Director of Rapid man, James management said "we have been working hard with James backers in securing the remainder of the season, in these challenging times it is great to have this opportunity in place so James and the team can build on what they have learnt so far in working together in what is a relatively new partnership compared to other teams and drivers in the series, with the working relationship of the team and driver now on a solid footing James is now mentally and physically prepared to challenge consistently for podiums during the remainder of the season"

Justin went on to say "The pressure is on James and the team to dig deep and unlock the potential that has been shown in previous races, notably a third qualifying position at Brands Hatch earlier in the season and a more recent 3rd place finish at Oulton Park, James works well under pressure and I am certain that he will deliver, we are all confident that the team will respond also now that we are secured for the year"

Look out for James driving the black Triple Eight Racing Vauxhall Vectra live on ITV4 on Sunday 8th August.
