Bargwanna dominates in wet in final practice for Bathurst 12 Hour

Day two of the Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro was flagged away in wet conditions at the Mount Panorama this morning with V8 Supercar driver Jason Bargwanna setting the fastest time for Bob Pearsons Pro-Duct Mitsubishi Team.

The father and son team of David and Des Wall set the second fastest time in a Mitsubishi 9 GSR, 4/10ths of a second slower than Bargwanna, with the Garry Holt, Paul Morris John Bowe BMW 335i third fastest overall.

Team Mitsubishi Ralliart were 4th and 5th fastest with Warren Luff and Damien White, followed by Steve Owen in a Mitsubishi, Barry Morcom's BMW 335i, Jim Hunters Subaru WRX Sti, the VIP Petfoods entry of Tony and Klark Quinn and the Neil Crompton/Glenn Seton/Mark King Mitsubishi Evo 10 rounding out the top 10.

Bargwanna's time caps off a strong week after he set the fastest time at the recent official practice session for V8 Supercars at Winton Raceway.

The only red flag in the session was caused by veteran 77 Year old former Bathurst winner Bob Holden, who beached his car in the sandtrap at Skyline.

Teams will be contesting the Armor All Pole Award ($5,000 cash) in Qualifying at 1:30pm for tomorrows grueling 12 Hour Enduro.

2009 pole winner Steve Owen currently holds the fastest time on the track in a time of 2:28.86, which he posted in yesterday's practice 1 session in his Superbarn Supermarkets Mitsubishi Evo 10.

The Shelby Mustang GT500 of Marcus Zukanovic, Allan Simonsen and Jason Bright struggled putting power to the ground in the wet conditions, with the massive torque of the supercharged 5.4 litre V8 constantly spinning up the back wheels.

The Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro is in its 4th year, with a grid of 45 expected to start. The race features production cars in a class structure representative of the mass road-going market. BMW, Mitsubishi, Ford, Holden, Nissan and Subaru will compete for outright honors.

Prostate Cancer is the official charity of the Event and the race will be televised in a 3 hour special on the SEVEN Network, through Fox Sports, New Zealand and other International Markets.
