TDR: UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Tony D'Alberto has plenty of unfinished business this weekend when he returns to Mallala Raceway for Round 5 of the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series.
Going back one round to Oran Park, Tony was in line to take his first-ever round win before being denied the chance after incurring a controversial drive-through penalty; and stepping back to the Mallala round in 2005 Tony's chance of winning the series ended after he speared into Adam Macrow's oil-leaking car while challenging for the lead.
"Last year was a turning point in the series for me," Tony said.
"Hopefully this year it will be a turning point in the right direction to kick off the back end of the series."
Putting history aside, Tony is only looking ahead to what he can achieve at Mallala this weekend.
"I just want to pick up where we left off at Oran Park ," he said.
"We have really started to get on top of the car set-up now and are just focusing on getting some good results for the rest of the season."
Being an 'old style' circuit, with plenty of twists, turns, and bumps, it is extremely important to qualify well at Mallala.
"We are fully prepared for this weekend. I will be giving it my best shot and hopefully the hard work of the team will be rewarded with a good result."
