DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Jan. 5 - As four days of testing got underway at Daytona International Speedway today for the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona Feb. 5-6, TRV Motorsport owner and co-driver Tom Volk announced the driver roster for the Toledo, Ohio-based team's Riley & Scott Chevy #95. In addition to Volk, who lives in Blissfield, Mich., the other drivers will be Peter Boss of Narragansett, R.I.; R.J. Valentine of Hingham, Mass. and Barry Waddell of Evansville, Ind. Ken Stiver of Avon, Ind., is being listed as the team's alternate driver in case any of the others are unable to compete or he's needed to take a stint during the twice-around-the-clock classic.

Sponsorship for the car, one of the top privateer entries, will come from Supreme Exhaust System Products, Racer Parts Wholesale, LCF Associates, LACOSTE, infosource.com and Lee's Grinding.

The team's usual lead driver, Indy Racing League Rookie of the Year hopeful Jeret Schroeder of Vineland, N.J., will miss both this event and the 12 Hours of Sebring in March, but he plans to be on hand for the test later this week to offer his support. He gave his word that he would participate in a celebrity quail hunting event the same weekend as the Rolex 24 which he will honor; in addition to being a star racer, Schroeder is an avid outdoorsman. The Sebring race conflicts with the MCI WorldCom Indy 200 IRL event at Phoenix International Raceway March 19.

"We'll miss Jeret at these two races, but we're excited about the driver roster we have assembled for the Rolex 24 and we're looking forward to getting 2000 off to a great start," Volk said. "Barry Waddell's record is superb and he's driven with us many times in the past. Peter Boss is a real rising star who is very impressive, and Dick Valentine did a solid job for us at this race last year. Our goal at this race is always the same - we want to finish - and we're all really looking forward to giving it our best shot next month."

Peter Boss is the youngest of the three racing Boss brothers. (Geoff and Andy Boss will compete in the Indy Lights series in 2000.) The 24-year-old driver plans to run for the Barber Dodge Pro Series championship this year after placing eighth in that series in 1999 with two podium finishes. He has raced in 72 Skip Barber Formula Dodge races, and he was the Skip Barber Formula Dodge Southern Series co-champion in 1998-1999 by winning half of those 14 events.

Waddell is an instructor/test driver for the Skip Barber Racing School. The 37-year-old driver ranks first in Barber Dodge Pro Series starts with 49 and third in career points in that series. He also has two podium finishes in the Rolex 24 in the World Sports Car class, which occurred in 1997 and 1996, on his stellar racing resume.

Valentine is most famous as a Trans-Am driver; he has over 100 career Trans-Am starts. He drove in the Rolex 24 with the TRV team for the first time last year, and took the checkered for the first time in this race in his 12 previous appearances. Last year the TRV team consisting of Schroeder, Volk, Valentine and Paul Debban of Malibu, Calif., finished eighth in the top class, which was called Can Am that year.

Volk has been a top World Sports Car competitor since 1995 after a successful career in various SCCA classes beginning in 1988.

The start of the race is scheduled to be shown live on ESPN2 on Saturday, Feb. 5 from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern. The finish is slated to be covered live on the same network from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6. A highlights show is also planned for ESPN, but that air time has not yet been announced.

For more information on the team, Internet users can call up www.trvmotorsport.com.

Any companies that would like to advertise their names and/or products on the car can call Volk at 1-800-472-8886 for more information.
