Trenker Achieves his Best Rally Raid Result

DHL TT Racing German Moto rider Tim Trenker achieves his best ever rally raid result, after finish fourth and final leg of UAE Desert Challenge on seventh position to hold the fifth overall position and first for Marathon Category.

Trenker suffer on fourth leg some problem with cooling system on his bike allowed him to hold back and ride smooth with Briton Steven Blackney till end of stage, clinch fifth overall standing and first Marathon category, which his best ever rally raid result, with talented performance on all rally stages.

Mohammed Ben Sulayem, chairman of the organizing committee, announced that Friday's final leg of the rally has been cancelled in view of the advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan. Then the final leg will be replaced by a road section from the bivouac to Dubai, where the finish will take place as scheduled at Dubai International Marine Club.

"Today was very easy apart from loosing coolant all day long. I rode at about 70% to make it very smooth and safe. I pulled away at the end and would be happy to do an extra day" Tim Trenker after finish fourth and final leg on Thursday.

Stage and rally victory went to Spaniard Isidre Esteve Pujol, who finish the stage just 23 seconds ahead of Polish rider Jacek Czachor, with rally runner - up Polish Marek Dabrowski finish the stage on third position ahead of 2004 world cross country champion Norwegian Pal Andres Ullevalseter. Spaniard Marc Coma arrives fifth, with Steven Blackney on sixth.

On Cars, Japanese Hiroshi Masouka won the stage with rally title in hand, he finishes 45 seconds ahead of team mate Frenchman Stephane Peterhansel, with VW driver German lady Jutta Kleinschmidt finishes third ahead of Belgium Gregoire De Mevius. UAE's Khalifa Al-Mutaiwei finishes fifth to clinch third overall and 2004 world cross country title.
