Synergy Racing Hauler Loads Up with Donated Hurricane Relief Supplies
ALTON, Va. (September 1, 2005) -- In an effort to provide relief to the victims of Hurricane Katrina, Synergy Racing and its sponsors have partnered with the Virginia-based, disaster-relief charity God's Pit Crew to help bring supplies to the devastated gulf coast region.
Synergy Racing provided two tractor trucks and one of its race haulers to transport donated goods. Several of the team's sponsors and partners have also joined the effort including: SascoSports, providing an additional trailer; Shoes for Crews, supplying several pairs of its non-slip work boots in addition to funds to purchase supplies; and Rx.com and Patterson/Bach Communications, giving monetary donations to help fill the trailers.
Rolex Sports Car Series GT points-leaders Synergy Racing donated the use of two of the team's tractor trucks and one of its race haulers to disaster-relief charity God's Pit Crew to transport supplies donated by Virginians and team-sponsors Shoes for Crews and Rx.com to the devastated gulf coast region.
Several members of the Synergy Racing team, including the team's director of marketing, Charissa Cobb, spent Thursday sorting supplies donated to God's Pit Crew and loading them onto the team's race hauler and other trailers for transport to the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Synergy Racing-partner SascoSports, headquartered next to the team at Virginia International Raceway, provided a trailer for Synergy's extra tractor truck to carry supplies to hurricane victims. Both trailers are being filled with supplies donated to God's Pit Crew in Danville, Va., and are scheduled to begin their trek to the gulf coast states on Monday.
About Synergy Racing
Team owners Cole Scrogham and Danny and Steve Marshall introduced Synergy
Racing in December 2004. Based at Virginia International Raceway, Synergy
Racing is an evolution of G&W Motorsports, which had catered to Porsche
racing since 1996 and became the most successful team in the Rolex Sports
Car Series with four championships, 15 class wins and more than 50 podium
finishes. The team underwent a major transformation that included a name
and logo change, as well as a complete restructuring into a
customer-based championship racing business, which concentrates on the
needs of the customer rather than the desires of the team. For more
