NASCAR BROTHERS TO BRING CHARITY DINNER AND GOLF TOURNAMENT TO NASHVILLE, TN

WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY, OCTOBER 27 & 28

Nashville, Tenn. (October, 11) - Darrell and Michael Waltrip bring the First Annual Waltrip Brothers' Charity Championship (WBCC) to Nashville, TN on October 27th and 28th. Two events make up the WBCC: The Waltrip Brothers' Champion's Dinner presented by Aaron's, on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 which will be held at the Hutton Hotel; and the Waltrip Brothers' Charity Championship golf tournament, on Thursday, October 28th, 2010 at Gaylord Springs Golf Links. Both events will benefit Motor Racing Outreach (MRO) and The National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS).

The Champion's Dinner scheduled to begin at 6:30pm; will feature the charismatic Waltrip brothers as well as entertainment by Capitol Records Artist Luke Bryan, Lonestar's Richie McDonald, and well-known American Stand-up comedian, Henry Cho. Three individuals will be honored throughout the evening: Connie Waltrip Brinkley, sister of the hosts and George MacIntyre Former Vanderbilt Head Football coach and Bobby Dodd's 1982 national coach of the year, will be honored for their sanguinity while battling Multiple Sclerosis and MRO's President Billy Mauldin who is currently serving his 10th year as leader of the Christian-based organization.

"I am moved by the number of people that quickly raised their hands to support this fund-raising initiative," Michael said. "Whether you are joining us because of the entertainment or for your passion for one of these remarkable organizations, it is sure to be moving and amusing."

The Waltrip Brothers' Charity Championship is a "no mulligan" celebrity golf tournament that will kick off at 10am at Gaylord Spring Golf Links. Close to 20 celebrities including NASCAR drivers, singer/songwriters, football players, sports commentators and comedians have currently signed up to play in this first time event.

"Having a golf tournament of this caliber has always been a dream of mine and Michael's," explained Darrell. "Motor Racing Outreach has served the NASCAR community for many years, and we felt compelled to create a fundraiser to assist in their operational costs."

"Additionally, it is extremely important to us that we generate support for the National MS Society's efforts to drive research and assist in the challenges of the disease because we have seen first-hand the challenges that our sister Connie faces daily."

The Waltrip Brothers' Charitable Fund was created to support the philanthropic initiatives of Darrell and Michael Waltrip. Individually, the Waltrip men have given millions of dollars to numerous charity organizations; the 2010 WBCC will be their first combined effort to give back to two associations that have personally touched them.

Motor Racing Outreach is a non-profit organization founded in 1988 by NASCAR drivers and their wives in response to the need for a "church" for the many individuals and families traveling and competing on the NASCAR Sprint Cup and NASCAR Nationwide circuits. Over the years the work of MRO has grown to include various other racing series and numerous local tracks throughout the United States.
