FULL TEAM ARRIVES IN SANTA ROSA FOR THE 12TH STAGE!

No big changes for the JMB Stradale Off Road team. They obtain 6th, 7th, 8th, 10th, and 12th place on this 12th stage. The competitors drove for a total distance of 796 km from San Juan to San Rafael out of which 476 km was time clocked before arriving at the bivouac, set up on the automobile track of this pretty town.

Nicolas Misslin and Jean-Michel Polato bring in the best time of the day for the JMB Stradale Off Road team coming in 6th at 17 mn 58s behind the day's leader, Carlos Sainz. The French duo maintain their 13th place in the general ranking at only 1 minute from Miguel Barbosa. "We left this morning and drove well with a good rhythm. Unfortunately, we had to slow down on the second part of the timed stage due to a leak. I preferred to keep the car in good condition for tomorrow than to push my chance today. For the moment, the essential fact is that we have all 5 cars once again at the arrival."

For several kilometers, Carlos Sousa and Matthieu Baumel, were lost to the organizers as their GPS antenna was not working. Luckily for everyone, this was the only problem and it was not serious! They came in 7th of the day, just behind Misslin, and maintain their 6th position in the general ranking. "We lost time on the first part of the timed section in a oued", explains Carlos Sousa. "Then in the second part of the special, we punctured and decided to change the tire... Three kilometers afterwards, the organizers advised us that the timed stage was shortened due to the public which had invaded the track. We could have avoided losing time changing the tire if we had known."

The duo Terranova and Maimon left in second place this morning and finished the stage in 8th place and move to 10th place in the general ranking at only 10 seconds from their team mate, Guilherme Spinelli. "Opening the stage in not easy but it's very nice to do", state both Orly and Pascal. "On the last 50 kilometers, the engine started to overheat and we had to stop at least 6 times to let it cool down."

As consistent as ever, Guilherme Spinelli and Filipe Palmeiro finish the stage in 10th position and move back to 9th place. "We punctured one time and after having fixed the tire, the warning lights were still on. The time that it took us to find out what was going on, Miguel Barbosa passed us and we were unable to overtake during the timed section", comments Filipe Palmeiro.

The crews Barbosa and Ramalho come in 12th of the timed stage and have the same place in the general ranking. Tomorrow will be tense between them and the French duo as there is little time between both crews. "Each day if full of surprises", comments Miguel. "We were without 4th gear and without air conditioning. The most difficult was to be without the 4th gear as the style of stage could have used this gear."

The next to last day will bring the competitors from San Rafael to Santa Rosa for a total distance of 725 km out of which 368 km will be time clocked. They must cross the Nihuil grey sand dunes before arriving on larger tracks. Even if the general ranking seems fixed, anything can happen...!
