Big River Sand Drags 2002 schedule

BONNE TERRE, Mo. -- (Dec. 1, 2001) The basic schedule for the 2002 racing season at Big River Sand Drags has been released by track officials. During the 2002 season there will be 23 nights of racing, including the season-finale, the Second Annual ATV Nationals on Oct. 5-6.

Not included in those scheduled dates, but the first event of the year at Big River, will be "Play Day." The special event is designed for racers to come and check out their equipment prior to the actual start of the regular season which will begin on Saturday, April 20th. Play Day will take place from Noon until 5 p.m. "You can race all you want and there is no admission charge," said BRSD owner John McCulloch. There will be a $25 fee for racers during Play Day.

Two-day shows this year at BRSD include May 25-26 (Memorial Day weekend), July 5-6 (Fourth of July weekend), Aug. 31-Sept. 1 (Labor Day weekend) and Oct. 5-6 (ATV Nationals).

The Friday, July 5th event is a special all-ET bracket racing night. Admission to Big River Sand Drags will be $7 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12, with 5 & under admitted free. Gates open at 4 p.m. for most races with time trials at 5 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m. For more information on the events at BRSD phone (573) 358-5009 on NON-RACE DAYS and (573) 2302 on RACE DAYS. Sept. 28: Last regular season race of season
Sept. 29: Rules meeting and track barbecue
