Bertsch ready for action in Toronto
CAYUGA, Ont. - After not getting to make a single pass down the track at the rain delayed Milan, Mich., event, IHRA Torco's CompetitionPlus.com Pro Stock driver Bob Bertsch and his Rislone Engine Treatment sponsored team are ready for action at this weekend's IHRA Canadian Nationals presented by PartSource at Toronto Motorsports Park. The team left rain-soaked Milan, Mich., for nearby Martin, Mich., where the team posted strong numbers in testing which has the team optimistic about their chances this weekend.
Bertsch, of Willis, Mich., hopes to continue the steady improvement his team has shown with his Jon Kaase powered 2007 Ford Mustang.
"The car is running good right now," said Bertsch. "Hopefully we can achieve our goal of qualifying in the top half, which puts us in position to go rounds on Sunday. We've had a few up's and downs along the way, but there's no doubt this Rislone Engine Treatment team is heading in the right direction. We've made it to the semifinals a few times this year, and hopefully we can potentially improve on that this weekend."
"Milan was a total wash out," Bertsch continued. "So about 20 teams loaded up and headed for Martin on Sunday. The track was excellent for testing. We ran a 6.37, which was the second best time out of all the Pro Stockers there. Hopefully we can build on that this weekend."
Qualifying begins on Friday, with two more sessions on Saturday. Final eliminations will conclude the event on Sunday.
