Haddock Drives Lend America Monte Carlo to No. 2 in Tulsa
TULSA (August 23, 2008) - Terry Haddock raced his Lend America-sponsored Chevy Monte Carlo to the No. 2 qualifying position at the IHRA Sooner Nationals based on the strength of his Saturday-afternoon pass of 5.098/283.73.
The current points-leader from Woodinville, Wash. struggled in the first round Saturday, smoking the tires at the hit, but rebounded strongly in the final qualifier with a 5.283/283.97.
"We're in great shape for tomorrow," Haddock said. "We knew we had room to play today, so we worked on our setup for Sunday and got things dialed in and ready to go for eliminations.
"The first round today was really hot - the track was over 120 degrees and we just couldn't get any traction, but we came back in the nigh session and made a really solid pass.
"We're ready to go, thanks to all the help we've got from Lend America, Dean's Casing Service, General Plasma and DJ Safety. We wouldn't be here without them," he said.
Haddock will match up against No. 6 qualifier Todd Simpson when final eliminations begin at 11 a.m. at Tulsa Raceway Park.
