Audi wins European finale of the DTM

DTM: Audi has won the European finale of the DTM. At Adria (Italy) Timo Scheider clinched his first victory of the season. On a wet track the two-time DTM Champion managed the feat of pushing to the front from grid position 15. Markus Winkelhock in fourth place was the best driver of year-old car. In total, five Audi drivers scored points. Alexandre Premat was able to climb out of his Audi A4 DTM on his own after having rolled over several times. According to initial medical checks at a hospital he sustained a cut on his foot.

Second place at VLN season finale

VLN: Marc Basseng and Frank Stippler captured second place in the Audi R8 LMS at the season finale of the VLN Endurance Championship at the Nurburgring. The duo from Team Phoenix Racing was leading three of the four hours of the race. But shortly after a scheduled refueling stop rain set in and the team that had maintained the lead for such a long time had to make an additional pit stop to change to grooved tires. The 2010 track record of the Audi R8 LMS in the VLN reflects a total of five podium places in ten races.

Audi TT RS wins again

VLN: The new Audi TT RS was successful again in its second test race of the VLN Endurance Championship on the Nurburgring-Nordschleife. As on its debut two weeks ago, the prototype fielded by Team Raeder Motorsport was running without any problems. Christoph Breuer, Marc Hennerici and Christopher Mies occupied twelfth place overall and again won the SP 4T class. The winter break will primarily be used to focus optimizing the set-up and on customer friendliness. The TT RS is being jointly developed by Technical Development (TE) and Production of AUDI AG and quattro GmbH for use in customer sport.

Campanico/Figueiredo win in Spain

International GT Open: After winning the title in the Spanish GT Championship Cesar Campanico and João Pedro Figueiredo continued to head for success: at the final race of the International GT Open at Barcelona the Portuguese in their Audi R8 LMS entered by Team Novadriver Total secured victory in the GTS class.

Timo Bernhard is Motorsportsman of the Year

Le Mans: Timo Bernhard, who together with Romain Dumas and Mike Rockenfeller won the Le Mans 24 Hours at the wheel of an Audi R15 TDI in June, has been voted ADAC Motorsportsman of the Year by a panel of professional judges. In a final voting the 29-year-old prevailed against Formula 1 driver Nico Rosberg. The panel recognized Timo Bernhard's achievements in recent years plus his service as a role model for junior racers. In addition, said the jury, Bernhard continued to play an active part in the podium ceremonies of his regioanal ADAC club whenever his scheduled allowed this.
