Audi achieves hat-trick in the DTM
DTM: As the first ever automobile manufacturer, Audi achieved a title hat-trick in the DTM: After 2007 and 2008, the brand with the four rings captured the coveted trophy for the third consecutive time. In front of 155,000 spectators Audi driver Timo Scheider stayed on the heels of his only remaining rival for the title, Gary Paffett, during the entire 39 laps in the finale at the Hockenheimring and thus successfully defended his title from last year with a second-place finish.
Audi R8 LMS wins European GT3 Championship
FIA-GT3: The Audi R8 LMS won the FIA European GT3 Championship right away in its debut season. Team Phoenix Racing secured the title in the finale at Zolder with Christopher Haase and Christopher Mies. The two Germans won the first race with a commanding performance and defended their lead of the standings in the chaotic second race. After the win of the ADAC GT Masters by Christian Abt, this is the second major title for the new GT3 sports car of AUDI AG.
Title for the R8 LMS also in Belgium
Belgian GT Championship: Team Phoenix Racing not only won the FIA European GT3 Championship at Zolder but also the Belgian GT Championship. The two Belgians Jean-Francois Hemroulle and Tim Verbergt only needed two second places in the two last races to achieve overall victory.
Stuck father and son in the Audi R8 LMS
VLN: Debut at the BFGoodrich Endurance Championship at the Nurburgring: In the finale next Saturday, Hans-Joachim Stuck and his son Johannes will compete together for the first time in an Audi R8 LMS of Team Phoenix Racing. Dennis Rostek will be the third driver. The second Phoenix R8 will be driven by Marc Basseng, Frank Biela and Frank Stippler.
Team Kolles with two Audi R10 TDI cars in Japan
Asian Le Mans Series: The private Kolles team will contest the two rounds of the newly incepted Asian Le Mans Series at Okayama (Japan) next weekend. Christian Bakkerud and Oliver Jarvis as well as Christijan Albers, Matteo Cressoni and Hideki Noda will be at the wheel of the two Audi R10 TDI cars.
Guest run of the Audi R8 LMS in Spain
Open GT: Next weekend the Audi R8 LMS will debut in the international "GT Open" racing series. Jean-Denis Deletraz and Andrea Piccini will compete at Barcelona (Spain) for Team Phoenix Racing.
